Collaborative research Royal HaskoningDHV
In 2015 a collaborative study between the VU University Amsterdam and Royal HaskoningDHV kicked off. In this study we are exploring the ways in which engineers are able to effectively perform their project management roles. I am the reserach coordinator of this study, and co-promotor of Simon Twaalfhoven who is the main reseracher. Joep Cornelissen and Paul Jansen are involved in this study as promotors.
Leadership in project-based organizations
On the 26th of March 2014 I defended my dissertation on leadership in project-based organizations at the University of Amsterdam. You can find the full dissertation (in English) and the practice summary (in Dutch) on this website. All studies presented in the dissertation are co-authored by Deanne Den Hartog and Anne Keegan, and one of these studies is also co-authored by Mary Uhl-Bien. I am still fascinated by leadership, especially in the context of project-based organizations, so you can expect more studies around this topic from me in the future.
Development of project managers
Chantal Savelsbergh, Peter Storm, Henk Broekema, and I have explored the most important learning experiences project managers encounter in their careers, and how these shape their development paths. This research was supported with a PMI research grant and has been published as a PMI monograph.
